Military Families

Welcome Military Families
Spicewood Park Elementary School and Southwest ISD proudly welcome our military-connected students and families! A military-connected student is a dependent whose parent or guardian is a current or former member of the U.S. military, Texas National Guard, or reserve forces, or a dependent of a member who was killed in the line of duty. As a campus and district, we understand the unique experiences and transitions that come with military life, and we are committed to supporting you every step of the way. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment, provide meaningful resources, and build a strong sense of community where every student can succeed. We are truly grateful you've chosen to be part of our campus and district.

At Spicewood Park Elementary School, we support military-connected students and families by:

  • Offering student-led campus tours for new students
  • Pairing new students with a lunch buddy during their first week
  • Providing priority enrollment for children of active-duty military families
  • Sharing updates on events and opportunities for military students, families, and veterans.
  • Connecting families with helpful resources and supportive services
  • Celebrating Month of the Military Child through campus and district-wide events
